Green360 Technologies Limited (ASX:GT3) is entering a critical phase in its mission to decarbonise construction. Executive chairman Aaron Banks this week revealed the company has produced commercial volumes of metakaolin from its proprietary kaolin deposit and is now trialling concrete mixes in partnership with precast firm PermaCast.
Key points
- Green360 Technologies Ltd is advancing a metakaolin-based low carbon cement.
- Commercial-scale trials underway with precast partner PermaCast.
- Unique value: substitutes cement itself—not just additives like fly ash or slag.
- Kaolin sourced in-house, rich in alumina oxide and kaolinite.
- Product exceeds Portland cement in strength after 28–56 days.
- Early sales achieved in incinerator applications.
- Commercial product launch targeted by end of 2025.
- National reach planned across major Australian states.
Interview highlights
Proactive: Aaron, can you walk us through this update?
Aaron Banks: Absolutely. Green360 has now produced metakaolin from its kaolin resources at commercial scale and begun mixing it into concrete. This is a major milestone—we're now in the production and concrete testing phase.
Proactive: What makes your low carbon cement different?
We're not just replacing fly ash or slag. We're actually substituting the cement itself with our metakaolin-based binder. Thanks to our kaolin’s high alumina oxide and kaolinite content, we can achieve higher substitution levels with better durability and strength.
Proactive: How are you validating its performance?
Concrete trials are being conducted with PermaCast, a commercial precast operator. They're testing in real-world applications—not just lab simulations—to evaluate workability and early compressive strength. Results so far show better performance than traditional Portland cement at 28 and 56 days.
Proactive: Can you elaborate on your commercial strategy?
We’re targeting three segments:
- Animal feed
- Incinerator linings
- Cement and construction
We’ve already made early sales into the incinerator space. Cement is the big prize—especially in Australia, where we can supply Western Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales.
Proactive: When can we expect commercial rollout?
We anticipate releasing our first commercial low carbon cement product before the end of this calendar year.
